At Home: September 2025

Our new-ish series, At Home, where we highlight what we’re using, sourcing and loving, as well as what’s inspiring us each month.

September always feels like a reset. The long, lingering days of summer start to give way to cooler and quieter ones, and I find myself wanting to be at home and a little more sedentary. There’s something grounding about returning to routine, and this time of year makes me want to create a space that feels lived-in and layered. Whether it’s curling up in a comfortable arm chair, lighting a candle, or cooking up something good for dinner, I’m leaning into this beautiful transition between seasons—and all the comfort that comes with it.

In September’s At Home, we’re sharing some of the things I updated the AGH Country House with over the summer months. I think one of the most beautiful things about pouring yourself into loving a home is watching it transform and evolve over the years, in big and small ways, as you grow and evolve as a person. There’s not “good” or “bad” or “better” or “worse”, rather it’s about what you love at that moment in time. It never gets old to reflect back and see where you started as a person, as a house, and as a person in a house. What a treat to be able to revisit spaces again and change a few things to make it feel more like the present you. The best thing about home is it’s meant to change as you (and your family) change; it’s meant to evolve as you evolve. It’s meant to bring you joy and a deep sense of belonging. That’s home.

With my summer home changes, I upgraded our living room arm chairs, added comfortable end-cap chairs to our dining table, switched out a few light fixtures, had a few custom drawer inserts made for our kitchen, and our primary bathroom underwent a renovation. I’ve been especially inspired by the refined finish of polished nickel, rich and warm patina of dark-stained antique wood, upholstered neutrals, and the kind of classic patterns that hint at tradition—like stripes and octagon-shaped mosaic tiles that never go out of style. I’ve been on the hunt for a new vintage desk for my office, and wish the table below was the right dimensions, but maybe it’s perfect for one of you.
