Selden Project

We designed this home with the intersection of beauty and comfort top of mind, featuring a cornucopia of earth tones and contemporary yet timeless details that didn’t jeopardize the existing heritage elements of the house. We translated the rural, wooded surroundings into livable yet tailored spaces for this client and their family. Carefully curated furnishings and home accents create a cozy, approachable environment. The bright-clean-collected aesthetic and sprinkled-in warmth of well-loved antiques added just the right amount of our contemporary farmhouse look.

SCOPE

The entire home was furnished and styled by A Good Home, along with the lighting selections. We were instantly drawn to the soft and romantic nature of this home, and wanted to lean into that through thoughtfully considered additions. A mix of contemporary selections, custom pieces, and vintage relics, the design of the Selden Antique alludes to the rustic yet refined nature of Lyme.

The design of Selden is about appreciating the little things in life: simplicity, function and flow, timeworn details, and touches of the natural world. We love perfection and prettiness in our spaces, but we’re also about charm and quirk. We focused on lived-in organic warmth for every nook and cranny of a project. These charming elements are the soul behind your home, and makes your home feel whole-heartedly you. Your home should be your personal safe haven- a space to escape the noise and come to a place of stillness and clarity. Creating this comes with patience and being intentional about every piece. Being free from clutter and deliberate with furniture, decor and belongings will not only bring you peace, but has the potential to help create an environment of ease and a timeless interior design.
