At Home: January 2026

Our monthly series, At Home, where we highlight what we’re using, sourcing and loving, as well as what’s inspiring us each month.

I find there to be such a dichotomy to January. One on hand, it always feels inspiring to jump head first into the things you want to work on this year. To just start. And with that, there’s a productive and prolific energy that comes out of that. However, January is also the most lifeless of year by nature’s standards. It provides a quiet, still energy. When you put the two together, it creates one of my cherished times of year. I find myself doing the human-equivalent of hibernating. Outside of work commitments, you won’t find me doing much. Cooking, playing cards, dinner by candlelight, lounging, long showers and extensive skincare routines, making tea, early bedtimes, routines. The new year feels like an invitation— to reset and take especially good care of ourselves and I love that our homes provide the support to do so.

Reading the daily newspaper

Listening This time of year, I’m not listening to much. My car typically has 40’s Junction playing quietly. And my daily walks are in total silence without any music or podcasts playing, with just the crunching of the snow beneath my feet. Though that’s not a stark difference from how I operate throughout the rest of the year, this time of year I really lean into it.

Cooking dinners from scratch, including Coconut Curry (get recipe here)

Doing getting a Caviar Facial at The Ocean House. My husband and I usually go away together for a weekend post-holidays in lieu of Christmas gifts; we typically go to Newport where we stay at the Harbor Island Resort, dine at The Vanderbilt and tour the Mansions. It’s incredibly quiet, relaxing and enjoyable. This year, we’re spending a day at the Ocean House instead. If you’ve never gotten the indulgent Caviar Facial there (this will be my third time), it’s a must.
