Portside: Great Room

Inside Portside, a whole-home design project inside a casual coastal contemporary home on Long Island Sound.

The Great Room inside Portside is a 40-foot long room with a panoramic front-row view of Long Island Sound.

A lot of life is lived in this room, and comfort was key, along with an entirely new approach to style, color palette, furnishings materiality and fabrics. We also considered numerous floor plan iterations, but ultimately decided that its current layout worked quite nicely. We created multiple sitting areas and a dining space with foundational texture, slipcovered sink-in seating, casual patterns, soft fabrics and calming palette set amongst the backdrop of the sea and all-day sunshine.
