Sill: Pantry

Inside the Sill Project, a comprehensive whole-home organizing project with modern flair.

TOUR SILL

From the outside, the integrated walk-in pantry at our Sill Project is a continued expression of the home’s aesthetic, but once you step inside, it’s filled with all of the essentials. Everything from small appliances to kids’ snacks lives in this space, and we couldn’t love it more.

For the practical details, To keep everything organized, we incorporated large baskets on the bottom shelf for storage, and a mix of bins, boxes, more baskets, and glass jars to keep all of our snacks, baking essentials, and canned food together.

Features in the pantry at our Sill Lane Project that just make sense 🤌

• A layout that mimics the progression of the day - grouping together breakfast on the far right, mid-day supplies in the middle, and dinner on the left
• Canned & jarred goods and spreads stored on turntables
• Bins that contain individual categories (I.e. All pasta in one bin)
• Incorporating broad labels, like “dinner” and “breakfast”
• Skipping on canisters to make this space as low maintenance as possible for this busy family
• Snacks stored in lower drawers which encourages independence in kids; organized by category
• A collection of similar but varied organizing materials complementary of the space’s aesthetic to create a cohesive look
• Allocating enough space for small appliance storage
